World Quizzing Championship 2012

For those who've gotten cuckoo about written quizzes after Mahaquizzer last Sunday, here's another one. We will be conducting the Mumbai leg of the World quizzing championship 2012 (homepage) on 2nd June, parallely with 84 other cities in 34 countries.

The quiz will consist of 2 sections of 120 questions each. 60 minutes will be available for attempting each section.

The Quiz is open to anyone who wants to give it a shot, but extrapolating from the attendance in the previous years, we have arranged for 35 question papers, which will be handed out on a first-come-first-serve basis. Its a fairly long quiz so we aim at starting on time. So all you need to be is alert, on time and with a pen.

MahaQuizzer 2012

MahaQuizzer 2012, the eighth edition will be held in Bangalore and several other cities on Sunday 27th May 2012.
As usual, the quiz will require takers to answer 150 questions in 90 minutes.
Prizes in each city for best School, College, Lady and Open entrant.
Online registrations for Mahaquizzer 2012 are now closed.
You can register and take part in the quiz at any venue if seating space is available.

Pravin Varma

There were very few who didnt suffer from Post-quiz depression after the extended weekend of Quizzing, which began with the majorly successful BQC open quiz and ended with the Mumbai leg of the Landmark National Quiz. For those who are still missing the action, the good news is that we begin our regular pow-wows from this Sunday.

Providing more than adequate consolation will be old hand Pravin Varma, who has set a prolific and an amply long quiz, to keep keep everybody interested.

For those who had their first insight into the BQC at the BQC open, we strongly recommend that you come over to one of our regular sessions to have a comprehensive notion about the club, and about quizzing in general.

We have our first live quiz of the season with a quiz by BCQC's Ramanand Janardhan. This is a re-run of a Nihilanth Quiz he conducted at IIM Calcutta a few years back. Shubhankar will be bringing his new buzzer to the quiz so we should have fun experimenting with the pounce format.

Vikram will be asking the questions since JR can't make it to Mumbai.

BQC Open Quizzes 2012

The second edition of the Bombay Open series of quizzes is being brought to you by the Bombay Quiz Club. The event is happening over 2 days - on Saturday, April 28th and Sunday April 29th - at the Bengal Club, Shivaji Park, Mumbai comprising 6 quizzes over 2 days: DAY 1 - SATURDAY APRIL 28th 1. 2012 The Norwegian Open

We kickstart our 2012-13 Season with the Norwegian Open championship. We didn't have much of a turnout last year because of the World Cup final but hope to see more people at this year's event.

All-written quiz - bring a pen.
Six 40-question sections in two halves.
55 minutes per half - we will take a short break after the first half.

Aditya Gadre

The BQC's swansong for the 2011-12 season will be a Music Quiz hosted by BCQC import Aditya Gadre, .

As the season, which witnessed the inaugural BQC open, draws to a close, we begin the countdown for the second edition of the Open which will be held in the last week of April.

Rajiv Rai finishes a hat-trick of League championships. The quiz will be followed by a glorification ceremony for Rajiv.

Presenting Mr.Quizzing

Rajiv Rai Rajiv Raied the landmark quiz last weekend. Rajiv Rai has already Rajiv Raied the BQC championship this year. With his Schumacheresque championship victory tightly secure, he's decided to take the QM's chair and smugly savour the scrimmage for the leftover points. And given how extraordinary his quizzes are, nobody's complaining.
