We'll be starting with a written quiz by Quiz Dubai on 24th November at 2pm followed by a long and comprehensive gen quiz with a bit of a travel bias by Vikram Joshi (i.e. myself).

Devang Ghia and Sumeet Pai

Eras might end and gods might abdicate their ranks, but the Quiz must go on. We continue our "Every Sunday is a Quiz Sunday"  affair this week as well. BQC old hands Devang Ghia and Sumeet Pai will be co-quizmastering the session. They will be having a huge variety of topics to offer so there is no better way to spend your Sunday afternoon. There's nothing on TV anymore anyway.

The Big Q

The written Quiz organised by the guys at SEQC, Goa will be held in Mumbai this Sunday. 120 Questions will have to be answered in 90 minutes. We will be doing a rerun of a few quizzes which were conducted at Kaikuu, the debut Quizfest of the gang at K-Circle at Hyderabad. While all the quizzes at the fest received rave reviews (the ravest being for the one where the Quizmaster danced on stage), time constraints will limit us to only a couple of quizzes. We'll begin with one of the best Quizzes of the fest, the AV quiz. Visual heavy and loaded with nice fundae. If that wraps up in time, the K-Circle Open will also be conducted. Aapla mulga Vikram Joshi will be hosting. Two cracker quizzes to kickstart your Diwali.

Anannya Deb + Name Place Animal Thing

BQC legend and Crown Prince of Bangladesh Anannya Deb will present an innovative "History of Ideas" Quiz this sunday. The quiz will be of a relatively general flavour, but with a twist. Following it will be a Name Place Animal Thing Quiz done by Aditya Gadre and Shubhankar Gokhale, another general quiz, but an evolved version of a favourite inter-class activity in schools.

Rajeev Chakravarthy + Oasis written quiz

Everyone turns like a dog's ear to a whistle when the name Rajeev is mentioned at the BQC. The saint however, will only be answering questions asked by his "studmaxx" namesake Rajeev Chakravarthy. We will complete a double header of double headers, when Rajeev will debut as QM this Sunday at the Bombay Quiz Club. Rajeev's quiz has been eagerly awaited  by everyone and is sure to be a cracker.

Preceding Rajeevs's Quiz, the BQC will be hosting the Bombay leg of the Qasis written quiz, conducted by the Quiz club of BITS, Pilani. 90 questions will have to be answered in 2 hours. Please register HERE for the quiz, as we will be having limited answer sheets. Please get a pen along.

Samrat Sengupta + German Open

Pune quizzing veteran Samrat Sengupta will be the Quizmaster this Sunday. This will be Samrats second quiz this year and promises to be even better than his quiz last year.

Before the Quiz starts, we will be having a re-run of the German Open written quiz, for those who missed it last weekend. Please check the previous blogpost for details.

The BQC will hold the first ever German open Quiz on Saturday, 5th October  ( http://www.quizverein.de/german-open-english.html) at our usual venue. Pravin Varma will be proctoring. It will be a solo written Quiz consisting of 240 questions in six categories (Art and Culture; Civilisation; Entertainment; Lifestyle; Physical World; Sport and Leisure). Please get a pen along.Also, you have to have registered for the quiz, as we will be having limited number of answer sheets. Directions: From the south: If you come north on Linking Road from Bandra to SantaCruz, you'll find a large Benetton Store on the right. At the end of that block is a Kotak Bank at the corner. Take a right and it's the next building, take the first gate and tell the sentry you've come for the quiz. From the north: If you get on to Linking Road at the airplane park end, you'll cross a HDFC Bank. A block later, you'll see a Kotak Bank on the corner - do not cross it. Take a left at that point and it's the building next to Kotak Bank.
